NewSTEPs Quality Indicator Meeting

The Newborn Screening Technical assistance and Evaluation Program (NewSTEPs), will be hosting a Quality Indicators (QI) Working Group at APHL headquarters on February 10, 2016.

The overarching goal of the QI Working Group is to refine and improve the conceptual definitions of the eight quality indicators and to ease the burden for newborn screening programs of entering these data into the NewSTEPs data repository.

The desired outcomes from this working group include the following:
1. Refined conceptual definitions of the eight Quality Indicators
2. Collaborative plan to collect and extract this information uniformly across newborn screening programs
3. Collaborative plan to extract this information uniformly within and across Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) vendors
