Critical Congenital Heart Defect (CCHD) - American Academy of Pediatrics

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has updated screening recommendations for newborn critical congenital heart disease (CCHD), a birth defect that causes the highest number of deaths in infants younger than one year due to congenital malformations. The new algorithm and other recommendations can be found on the AAP website and in the clinical report. AAP has provided resources for parents and families, as well as providers.
