Dr. Randall provided information on the pilot study begun in Utah before legislation was in place during the NewSTEPs Critical Congenital Heart Disease (CCHD) in-person meeting in 2014. Challenges included educating the nurses, a distrust of the screening, and the removal of language for reporting of results and funding from the final bill by the sponsor or the bill (to assure passage).
