This checklist was designed by the Health Information Technology Subcommittee to assist newborn screening (NBS) programs to implement new disorders within their laboratory information systems. It includes examples from three different programs (Texas, Minnesota, and Kansas) and outlines essential elements and tasks that programs should consider when incorporating new disorders into their various information systems. This checklist serves as a guide, and it is encouraged that NBS programs adopt the file to meet their own needs.
